I was so sorry to hear of Karen's passing. I was in Eldridge this past week and had a chance to talk to her dad and more extensively with her sister, Debbie. We lived across the road from each other out on our farms in Lincoln township. I remember the first day of school....waiting for our first ride on the big yellow school bus. The buses had pictures of animals on them so the little ones could tell which bus was theirs. Karen and I were excitedly chatting back and forth from the end of our driveways.
